History Leamington & District Chamber of Commerce

In 1936 a group of Leamington businessmen got together and formed the Leamington and District Chamber of Commerce. The first President was Mr. Alf Bennie who operated the local Lumber Company. In 1964 it was incorporated under the presidency of Mr. T.D Smyth of the H.J. Heinz Co.

It is a voluntary organization of individuals and business that join together to advance the commercial, financial, industrial and civic interest of our community. It is a public relations vehicle, a legislative monitor in the business, tourism and a promotion medium.

Mission Statement

The Leamington & District Chamber of Commerce is a community organization dedicated to being a visible and pro-active voice for the business, tourisum and promotion of the district. This is achieved through strong partnerships, active members, and involvement of volunteers, dynamic leadership and implementation of innovative programs.

Vision

To foster an environment where business and tourism can prosper by providing appropriate programs, networking opportunities, public policy advocacy and developing partnerships.
